Sustainability has become a design language, which makes it easy to fake. A property can look impeccably low-impact and still truck in water, employ nobody locally and send everything to landfill.

Our checks are boring on purpose: where does the water come from, who is on payroll from within twenty kilometres, what happens to waste, and how much of the food was grown within sight of the kitchen.

Properties that answer well tend to be quieter, smaller and warmer than the ones that market hardest. That suits our guests.

Comfort is not the price of conscience. It usually arrives with it.
